What is IB DP?
The IB is so much more than simply a route to university. The IB ethos is to educate the whole person and provide the necessary skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world. The IB is offered in 148 countries, in 3874 schools to over a million students, because the programme understands that success in higher education involves both critical and creative thinking. IB DP
The IB Diploma Programme is an assessed programme for students aged 16 to 19. It is respected by leading universities across the globe. Through the DP, schools are able to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge, flourish holistically, study at least two languages, excel in traditional academic subjects, and explore the nature of knowledge through the programme’s unique theory of knowledge course.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students are challenged by a broad curriculum, choosing courses within six key subject areas.
Core Elements of IB DP

IB DP Assessment
Additionally, students must also fulfill three core requirements – complete an extended essay, attend a theory of knowledge course, and participate in creative, action and service activities
Diploma Programme (DP) courses within the CP are assessed in accordance with rigorous international standards.
Students take written examinations at the end of their courses, which are marked by external IB examiners. The marks awarded for each course range from 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest).
