IB Career-Related Programme (IB CP)

IB Career-Related Programme (IB CP)

We are pleased that in the near future, we will be adding the IB CP to our already very successful IB DP offered by our school.

What is IB CP?

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Career-related Programme (CP) is a framework of international education that incorporates the vision and educational principles of the IB into a unique programme specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning. The Career-related Programme (CP), designed by the International Baccalaureate (IB), is an innovative education programme tailored to the students.

A major advantage is that the IBCP offers students flexibility: it offers them challenging academics and professional skills.

As of 1 November 2018, there are 214 schools offering the CP in 23 countries

The International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme Structure

The Career Programme (CP) allows students to combine their academic subjects with their non-academic interests and skills while allowing access further education, apprenticeships and employment in areas such as business, IT, health care, sports, and many others.

IB CP Assessment

  • The IB Diploma elements of the IBCP are assessed by written examinations and are then marked externally.
  • IBCP core components are examined and marked by the school (although the reflective project is moderated by the IB).
  • Diploma Programme (DP) courses within the CP are assessed in accordance with rigorous international standards.
  • Students take written examinations at the end of their courses, which are marked by external IB examiners. The marks awarded for each course range from 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest).
