Monika Kostova is a BFL (Bulgarian as a Foreign Language) teacher at the British School of Sofia. She holds a Master's Degree in English and Bulgarian language from the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo. She has also completed Montessori (for children aged zero to six) training at Sofia University.
With a long career in education, she worked as a secondary English teacher in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria, from 1996 to 2014. From 2014 to 2024, she taught English at the University Populaire in Geneva, Switzerland.
Since 2015, she has also been teaching Bulgarian in schools in Geneva and Vevey, Switzerland. Additionally, she teaches English at Earl Mondo Linguae in Gex, France.
Her teaching philosophy is centred on guiding students to complete tasks efficiently and develop new skills through both individual and group instruction.
