BSS at the FC Zenith Football Tournament

02 Dec 2023

This weekend, the British School of Sofia's young football enthusiasts took to the field at the FC Zenith Football Tournament, demonstrating incredible spirit and skill across two age groups.

Saturday's Young Stars

Despite being a year younger than their Bulgarian counterparts due to the British academic system, our first and second-graders showed commendable effort and enthusiasm. They played as a single team, just like they do during practice. They faced Private School Svetlina and 120th School, and while they didn't win, their smiles post-game were a testament to the fun and experience gained.

Sunday's Triumphant Matches

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade also formed a single team. They had an exciting run, starting with a decisive 4:1 win against Svetlina, followed by a thrilling last-minute victory over FC Zenith with a 5:2 score. Their triumphant journey led them to the semi-finals, where they secured a smashing 6:1 win against the 201st "Lozen" school.

Star Performers

Special commendations go to Gianmarco, our talented goalkeeper, and Christopher, who won the goalie award with an impressive 7 goals throughout the tournament. Emmanouil, with a total of 6 goals, was awarded a one-month voucher to develop his skills further—a very wise and valuable second prize.

As we celebrate these young athletes' achievements, every participant was recognized with a certificate of appreciation. Their performances were more than just about winning; they symbolized teamwork, growth, and the joy of the sport.
