Discovering Talent, Sharing Creative Gifts with the BSS Community

06 Mar 2026

The time has come yet again to share our talents with the world.

BSS Got Talent is an annual occurrence, and each year, incredible singers and dancers come together to battle it out, entertain the British School of Sofia (BSS) community, and go home with one of our coveted trophies.

How We Make Art Our Own

BSS Got Talent enables everyone who’s willing to do so to take the stage and deliver the performance of a lifetime.

The concert is organised by age group, dividing participants into various categories. Winners are chosen in each of the categories, while the top performers receive our special Grand Prix prizes.

Talent comes in many forms. BSS performers can sing, and they can dance. Our vocal group excels at putting intricate shows together. Each performance includes both vocals and choreography, showing the BSS community what talented children are capable of achieving under the right guidance.

BSS vocal coach and music teacher Eleonora Bakalova dedicates a lot of time and effort to putting together headline-worthy shows that showcase talent in the best way possible.

Her dedication to inspiring students has contributed to numerous international distinctions for the BSS vocal group. Additionally, talented students get opportunities to express themselves, develop their skills, and perform on stage in front of an enthusiastic audience.

Recognising Talent and Celebrating Together

The talent show is always eagerly awaited, and each year, we get to witness outstanding performances and creative interpretations of both classics and current popular pieces.

This year’s show gave us two hours of wonderful music, praise-worthy dance moves, and hard work.

Our youngest participants took the stage first. Each cute performance was keenly observed by a panel of judges featuring BSS teachers and renowned Bulgarian performer Etien Levi.

Moving on to our older performers, we were wowed by sheer talent and creativity.

Ballads, timeless rock classics, pop hits, and musical theatre pieces graced the stage. The talent show ended with the most spectacular performance of the night when the vocal group came together for one final piece to give the judges time to finalise their decision.

Why Art Is a Crucial BSS Curriculum Component

Art plays a very important role in the British School of Sofia curriculum.

It’s part of our holistic curriculum that focuses on key life skills such as creativity, problem-solving, innovation, self-confidence, and effective self-expression. Art serves as a medium for self-expression, emotional development, and even critical thinking. This way, academic learning is properly balanced with personal growth to help children become curious, lifelong learners.
