Experience the British School of Sofia Advantage: Join Us During Our February 7 Open House Day

23 Jan 2026

Join our teachers, explore the facilities, and learn more about the British School of Sofia primary school and kindergarten during the Open House Day presentation

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever have to make.

Doing the research online and acquainting yourself with academic programmes is only the beginning. A campus visit and a chance to meet the teachers will give you a lot of additional information, also giving you the opportunity to ask questions and learn everything of personal importance.

To help you make the right choice, we’re hosting a British School of Sofia Open House Day.

When, Where, What?

The British School of Sofia Open House Day is an event meant to acquaint you with our teachers, our educational philosophy, and campus.

  • When: February 7, 2026, 1:30 PM
  • Who can attend: Parents of children aged two to 12, children, and family members (we welcome everyone)
  • Where: 15 Ivan Radoev Street, Vitosha District, Sofia
  • What: The Open House Day will consist of a thorough presentation, a campus walkthrough, a Q&A session for the parents, as well as various activities and workshops for the attending children. The day will allow you to experience the British School of Sofia educational philosophy while also getting answers to all of your questions. Our experienced educators will be there to address every inquiry and demonstrate the BSS educational advantage.

Why the British School of Sofia?

The British School of Sofia is the only accredited British School Overseas (BSO) in Bulgaria, recognised by the Department for Education of the United Kingdom. Additionally, BSS became an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) school in 2025.

At BSS, we focus on a holistic, trans-disciplinary, and project-based educational approach. We prioritise intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, and creative growth to help children discover their full potential.

Learning at BSS is:

  • Trans-disciplinary, establishing connections between the various subjects
  • Project-based
  • Inquiry-based, allowing students to research and explore themes of interest
  • Collaborative

Our international community prioritises acceptance and the celebration of cultural differences. The primary language of instruction at BSS is English, but students benefit from an array of opportunities to study languages like Spanish, French, German, Bulgarian, Russian, Arabic, and others.

We believe that the British School of Sofia delivers distinctive advantages in the form of:

  • A wide range of extracurricular activities
  • Field trips and opportunities to explore the world beyond the classroom
  • A focus on sports, wellbeing, and physical activity (our Ski Week is a traditional event that everyone awaits eagerly)
  • Modern facilities designed to help children learn by playing and engaging in various activities/projects
  • A strong sense of community that also prioritises parental involvement (parents are encouraged to attend presentations and school events, we also have workshops and activities for all members of the BSS community)
  • Ongoing communication, encouraging a productive relationship between educators and parents
