Talking about academic excellence is one thing. Demonstrating the effectiveness of a programme takes the claim to the next level.
The British School of Sofia (BSS) educational approach helped our talented students dominate the Sofia round of the 2026 World Scholar’s Cup. A competition designed to test both academic expertise and individual skills, the World Scholar’s Cup is yet another challenge we overcame and conquered.
The World Scholar’s Cup consists of multiple challenges and rounds that students participate in, whether individually or as a team.
These include the team debate challenge, collaborative writing, the scholar’s challenge, and the scholar’s bowl.
Our intellectual Olympians won medals and distinctions in various categories, including silver in the senior division, debate gold and silver, team bowl gold and silver, writing gold and silver, as well as multiple other distinctions in categories like art & music, social studies, history, literature, and science & tech.
A British School of Sofia student is also the recipient of the prestigious Jac Khor Award – the distinction that is awarded to the student with the highest overall score in the Scholar’s Challenge event.
The World Scholar’s Cup is an international academic competition for students aged 10 to 18. It brings together participants from more than 65 countries.
The various challenges are designed to test interdisciplinary learning, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Due to their accomplishment in the Sofia Round, our scholars have qualified for the global round of the competition.
