Being an incredible performer is highly demanding, even for experienced singers who have decades of stage presence under their belt. Young competitive singers face even bigger pressure whenever their talent is put to the test. 

The British School of Sofia (BSS) vocal group and solo performers, however, prove that you can be a star at any age.

The BSS vocal group’s accomplishments are innumerable. The latest series of triumphs occurred during our October performance at the Arpeggio International Singing Competition in Malta.

If you’ve ever come to BSS and you’ve passed by the music room, you know how much time our singers spend preparing for every upcoming competition. Their voices echo in the hallways while they confidently work on their renditions of favourite hits and musical theatre numbers.

Arpeggio International Singing Competition is an event that we have traditionally excelled at. Our singers shone bright during the May 2024 edition of the festival. The fact that our performance was even more exceptional during the October 2025 competition deserves special praise.

The vocal group and our individual performers brought home numerous trophies across the competition’s categories. We won multiple distinctions in Movies & Musicals, World Hit, and Native Language performances. Shining Stars, the BSS vocal group, received a much-deserved first place among the singing groups.

Arpeggio International Singing Competition occurred for the first time in 2016, showcasing both local and international talent. Since then, the competition has grown to host teams and performers from countries like Malta, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, Germany, Hungary, and others.

Our shining musical stars had to wow the judges' panel, including distinguished music professionals from Bulgaria, Germany, and Malta. The panel featured vocal coaches, composers, and a festival organiser – established professionals keen on observing and identifying top talent.
