Computer Science, Robotics and CAD/CAM at BSS

10 Apr 2023

At the British School of Sofia, we are taking the initial steps in introducing CAD/CAM technology into our curriculum, particularly within the field of Computer Science and Robotics. These classes offer a source of inspiration for our students' future careers in the IT sector, programming, modeling, and computer science.

But why is CAD/CAM education important for children? It is essential for them to learn Digital Technologies, Design, Programming, Modern Technology and I.C.T. from an early age so that they can adapt to using modern technology and understand the ever-changing pace of technological advancements.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) allows students in digital friendly environment to interact with concepts of virtual reality, artificial intelligence and better understand the technological era that they are growing up into.

Moreover, various industries, including engineering, manufacturing, and creative sectors, heavily rely on CAD/CAM processes. Therefore, acquiring CAD/CAM skills is crucial for children as they build their capabilities for future employment opportunities.

Computer Aided Manufacturing allows students in digital friendly environment and controlled manufacturing frames to interact with concepts of prototyping technologies, develop rapid prototyping concepts and skills with the aid of artificial intelligence or virtual Physics and better understand technology and automation.

Integrated CAD and CAM software provide a comprehensive solution that covers the entire design-to-manufacturing process. CAM software is employed to program and control computer-aided machinery with different programming languages, automating the manufacturing process.

Once the designs are completed in the CAD phase, CAM software utilizes them to generate instructions that drive computer-controlled machinery, facilitating the mass production of a product.

Students get the chance of studding multiple programming languages with huge differentiation on difficult and complexity levels starting with basic scratch, C/C++ and moving on the advanced Python, Java and in some actions even JavaScript.

At the British School of Sofia, we are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that embraces modern advancements and prepares them for future success. Our focus on Computer Science, Robotics, Digital Technologies, programming languages and CAD/CAM is just one example of our dedication to nurturing their skills and fostering a passion for innovation in a vast technological society.

By empowering our students with knowledge and experience in Computer Science, Robotics, Digital Technologies, programming languages and CAD/CAM, we believe they will be well-equipped to pursue rewarding careers and contribute to the rapidly evolving technological landscape with their own innovations and achievements.
