BSS Marks the Beginning of 2024/2025 Academic Year

Our future lookед bright on the morning of September 9, 2024. We set the balloons and decorations early in the morning, eagerly awaiting the return of our students and the arrival of new class members.

This academic year, we’re ready to welcome one of the biggest, most colourful, and diversified groups of students in the history of the British School of Sofia (BSS).

From the nursery kids making those tentative first independent steps into the academic domain to the IB2 crowd eager to take on the world, each group marched to their respective classroom to start the first school day and build upon the knowledge already acquired in the past.

Everyone received headmaster Matthew Osborn’s warm welcome. British Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Elizabeth Chapman spoke to our students, wishing them a successful new year, filled with academic accomplishments and new friendships.

Once the official ceremony ended, academic year 2024/2025 commenced officially. Each class headed to their respective room, starting the journey towards acquiring knowledge and developing skills essential for long-term success.

We are hopeful that the new school year will give our students numerous opportunities to shine and demonstrate the effectiveness of the BSS curriculum. We will keep you updated, sharing more about our everyday activities, the projects that our students undertake, and the successes achieved in the classroom, in competitions, and in all other real-world settings.
