Witnessing some of those proudest moments and biggest milestones is among the most significant perks of being a part of the British School of Sofia (BSS) team.

As far as proud moments go, nothing can top the experience of the BSS graduation.

On a sunny June morning, we all got ready to wish the Class of 2025 smooth sailing ahead.

Marking this momentous occasion in their lives, however, was only a portion of everything planned to make the day incredible for everyone. The entire school community got together to celebrate the biggest accomplishments and all the knowledge that BSS students acquired during the academic year.

The ceremony that marks the end of the school year isn’t just for the graduating class, although they are the shining stars that we all celebrate.

Every grade gets the opportunity to do a short presentation, after which students receive their certificates for the successful completion of the year.

The Class of 2025 received deserved praise for the academic accomplishments and the extensive growth all students experienced through the years. As educators and a community, we saw them evolve, learn, mature, and become the incredible young adults they are today.

Before graduating, BSS students go through a rigorous programme meant to prepare them for a bright academic future.

They complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or Career Programme (CP). Both are internationally recognised, facilitating admission to some of the most renowned universities across the world.

Each graduate received their certificate. After this ceremony, we witnessed the speeches that some of the graduating students wrote. They made us laugh, they made us cry, and most importantly, they highlighted the biggest asset of BSS: our community.

Next came our kindergarteners, who graced the stage with the most cheerful performance before receiving their certificates.

BSS students also received golden certificates for their accomplishments throughout the school year. We firmly believe that achievers deserve recognition and praise for their hard work and the amazing results.

It’s now time to wish everyone an amazing summer before seeing each other again in September. And while our students will enjoy the sunny days away from school, we’ll be enjoying summer school with youngsters who decide to join us for some intense English language learning, sports, and outdoor activities, as well as multiple academic opportunities within disciplines like science, math, engineering, and arts.
