Another tool that we will start using from the next academic year is Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback).
We believe Neurofeedback gives us the opportunity to get an in-depth understanding of our students’ functioning. By getting this insight, we can develop a very personalized approach that will help them to grow and develop their skills. We are trying to ensure they can be present, concentrated and calm in all the different challenging situations.
We are happy to announce three of our staff members have undergone Neurofeedback training throughout this academic year and now they are continuing to practice under supervision.
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a therapeutical method where the participant receives instant feedback about their brain’s functioning. An electroencephalography is recorded and presented in a form of a game with audio and visual stimuli. Each brain wave is represented by a specific part of the game. Whenever the brain wave is within the norm, the person is rewarded by receiving points. The practitioner sets the limits in a way that is challenging, yet achievable.
Based on the principle of conditioning, while doing the practice the participant learns new and healthier ways of responding to a situation through the repetition and rewards.
