Certificates from the Volunteering Project with the Order of Malta

Certificates were given today to all the participants in a volunteering project with the Sovereign Order of Malta.

The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Bulgaria handed in certificates to all the volunteers from British School of Sofia as an expression of gratitude for the volunteer’s participation in the 2018-2019 winter project “Delivery of food to people in need”. The volunteer’s action demonstrates the honor and the values of the Order, maintained for over 900 years.

On a special event on 7th of May Her Excellency Mrs. Ursula Zuccoli, Ambassador of the Order of Malta to the Republic of Bulgaria, His Excellency Mr. Bogdan Patashev, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Order of Malta in Rome, and Ms. Iva Mihailova, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Bulgaria, expressed their gratitude to BSS for their participation in the project.

For more than 5 months students, teachers and administrative staff from BSS visited 3 times per week the catholic monastery “Saint John Paul II” in Sofia and delivered food to people in need. For the 12 Graders it is a part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service Programme) and along with them many 11, 10 and 9 Graders were involved, even 2 students from 7th Grade.
