05 Apr 2023

On 5th April, with an official ceremony, opened the annual Visual Arts exhibition. It was held at the BSS’ new campus – WonderWorld kindergarten and featured four outstanding 12th grade BSS students.

Anastasia Buzyan, Nicoleta Sakellari, Otto Jermaks and Dilara Civicioglu showcased a unique perspective on the world around us.

Under the guidance of their teacher, Miss Antoineta Galabova, the students have created a variety of art pieces such as paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations.

Visual arts classes are an essential part of the International Baccalaureate curriculum. This curriculum is designed to challenge students to explore and push their creative and cultural boundaries by experimenting with a wide range of contemporary visual media. Students are encouraged to develop their artistic skills and gain a deeper understanding of the expressive and aesthetic diversity of the world.

The British School of Sofia offers a visual arts program for students who want to pursue higher education in this field as well as those who seek creative expression during their IB studies. By fostering exploration and creative energy, students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

The school takes pride in being one of the few in Bulgaria that offer an IB program in visual arts, providing students with a unique opportunity to develop their creative skills and pursue their passion for art.
