The Visual Arts exhibition of our International Baccalaureate (IB) students was officially open on Monday, April 8th. Many students, parents and teachers from BSS enjoyed the beautiful pieces of art, displayed at the exhibition.

The IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts course encourages students to challenge their own creative and cultural expectations and boundaries.

The 2-year course is designed for students who want to go on to study visual arts in higher education. It consists of theoretical practice, art-making practice and curatorial practice. A part of the internal assessment is the exhibition. Students submit a selection of artworks as a portfolio. They should explain how these works are connected.

“Your work is phenomenal. If you have a talent, you need to celebrate it and we, as a school we should celebrate it and encourage you. It gives you the opportunity to think creatively and outside of the classroom”, said Mr. Matthew Osborn, Headmaster of BSS, at the official opening of the Visual Arts Exhibition.
