My Freedom Day

11 Mar 2020

March 11, 2020 is #MyFreedomDay - a student-driven event to raise awareness of modern slavery. To mark the day, students all over the world are organizing events at their schools to highlight modern slavery and celebrate freedom.

Students all over the world share what freedom means to them in CNN's project My Freedom Day. They shine a light on modern-day slavery.

Students from Grade 7 and 8 made posters and explained what freedom means to them.

Freedom is...

"Spending your time best you like".

"You have the right education and a career of your choice".

"Being able to go to school, work and to play without fear".

"Not having to work a s a child slave".

"Being able to learn and develop as you want".

These and many more statements you can see in the video.
