CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service)

Monday, 14th January

BSS has chosen to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The IB offers an excellent international education. Its mission is to develop inquiring, informed an thoughtful young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

At BSS we have a curriculum with flexibility to allow students to thrive. One of the essential programmes that every student must complete as part of the Diploma Programme (DP) is CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service). CAS enables students to improve their personal and interpersonal growth by learning through practice.

An interesting initiative within this programme is the current volunteer project with the Sovereign Order of Malta in Bulgaria. This initiative stared last year and continues in the current year. Three times per week, a group of volunteers from the school visit the Catholic Church “Pope John Paul II” and assist with serving food to people in need. The initiative will continue until April 2019.

Further CAS initiatives had taken place earlier: a charity cooking project with chef Ivan Manchev, working with the Cedar Foundation as well as a charity bazaar and raffle organised during Christmas celebration at school.
