November 12th-16th, 2018

British School Of Sofia

November 12th-16th, 2018, BSS organised an Anti-bullying Week to educate the children on what bullying means and how to avoid falling into the cycle.

During this week BSS held short assemblies to explain to the students how they should communicate with one another in order to ensure a spirit of tolerance and friendship. In these assemblies the counsellor of the school said that “аt the end of the week the goal is to maintain a balance - we don’t want to be weak, timid, and not take any actions in the face of adversity, nor do we want to be harsh, aggressive, and impose our views on others. We want to find the golden mean, where we can confidently express ourselves without the need to control others. That’s harmony” and appealed for thinking about who we are and what we would like to be.

Also, the issue of bullying was a topic of discussion in all lessons throughout the week and many questions were discussed and answered. In this way the children had the opportunity to participate in the discussions, both in class and at the assemblies.

The initiative was committed to build bridges between all the different representatives of countries, ethnicities, races, religions, and cultures that we have at BSS.
