National Museum Earth and Man, Sofia

The students from the Infant School (KS1) visited the National Museum “Earth and Man” in Sofia. Their visit was part of the school classes, where they study about the construction, materials and the development of the Earth. The students’ visit involved a trip through the permanent exhibitions of the museum:

• EXHIBITION "GIANT CRISTALS"

• EXHIBITION "MINERALS OF THE EARTH"

• EXHIBITION "MINERAL RESOURSES OF THE EARTH"

• EXHIBITION "MINERAL RESOURSES OF BULGARIA"

• EXHIBITION "MINERALS OF BULGARIA"

• EXHIBITION "PRECIOUS AND ORNAMENTAL STONES"

• EXHIBITION "MATERIALS"

• COLLECTION "PETAR TRANTEEV"

This rich diversity of stones grabbed the attention of the young BSS explorers and brought many discussions.

About the museum: "The building of the National Museum “Earth and Man” was constructed at the end of the 19th century as part of the Sofia Arsenal complex. It is one of the first buildings in the country with anti-earthquake walls. The museum is a state cultural institute of national importance".
