11 BSS Teams Qualify for the WSC Global Round 2020

11 BSS teams from 16 qualify for the World Scholar's Cup Global Round 2020. The Sofia Regional Round took place on 25 - 26 January.

Our teams have earned invitations at their choice of the World Scholar's Cup Global Rounds 2020 in Muscat (Oman), Vancouver (Canada), Prague (Czech Republic), Melbourne (Australia), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) or Johannesburg (South Africa). We have 4 teams qualified from Junior Division (10 - 13 years) and 7 - from Senior Division (14 + years).

We also gained:
Overall Champion Team – Junior Division
1st Place Writing Team – Junior Division
1st Place Challenge Team – Junior Division
2nd place Bowl Team – Senior Division
4th Place Overall Team – Junior Division

The Global Rounds will gather 10 000 leading scholars from more than 70 countries. Scholars who attend Global Rounds will engage in a series of academic challenges within a broader celebration of learning and mutual acceptance. Participants at all GLobal Rounds will have equal opportunities to qualify for the 2020 Tournament of Champions at Yale University.

Team 895 - Salih Khaluf, Daniil Efimov, Vyara Vladimirova - Russian Embassy School in Sofia.

Our students Deniz Kardzha from Grade 12 and Luisa-Evgenia Caselli from  Grade 8 presented our school in Debate Showcase. They were chosen among all of the debaters and became part of a team of four students from different schools. 

At the end of the competition there was a Talent Show. Students present their talents and we are proud to have 3 participants who sang, played the piano and danced.
